Our Children
As parents, we entrust our schools with providing our children the tools they need to succeed in life. Parents are often navigating their own sometimes demanding, complicated daily lives and deserve to have a sense of well-being that comes with the confidence that their children are learning and having positive experiences in school.
As a parent and grandparent, I understand the value of our school system and the teachers and administrators who consistently educate and care for our children every day, regardless of a parent’s level of engagement. As your RUSD representative, I will advocate for policies that encourage parent engagement and keep our children safe, learning, and successful.
Our Community
Our schools are a direct reflection of our community’s health and vigor. Strong schools impact our quality of life, property values, and our ability to attract and retain businesses. When we support our schools, we demonstrate our community values.
My career in education and many years of community service will make me a strong reasoned voice representing RUSD Area 3. Together as a community we build a District that supports students learning, teachers teaching, and a strong, vibrant community.
Our Future
I believe in the transforming power of education. When learning happens it not only transforms the individual but also has the power to change the world. In the moment of learning, life and the world become a little more understandable, a little more manageable, and can provide the learner with a sense of purpose and connection.
This is the spark that every parent wants for their child. The purpose and connection our children gain through education will empower them to create a brighter future for our community, nation, and world. As your RUSD Area 3 representative, I will do my part to promote a positive, healthy, constructive educational experience for our students and families.
Meet Chani
Chani Beeman is a retired education professional, a mother, a grandmother, and a Riversider who has committed her life to community service.
Chani is a long-time community servant who has built a reputation as a sensitive, effective, and deliberate communicator and problem solver. She is as an effective listener and respected guide to reasoned solutions for tough, high-stakes problems.
Chani understands the importance of quality public education, both as a foundation for our children's learning and as an important indicator of overall community health and vitality. Chani is keenly focused on good government and will bring her commitment to transparency and responsive governance to the RUSD School Board.
Born and raised in Riverside, Chani is the product of RUSD schools. She attended:

Chani worked her entire career in the field of Education.
Retired from Riverside Community College District after serving 10-years as the District Director of Diversity, Equity and Compliance, serving as the EEO, ADA, Sexual Harassment, and Title VII Non-Discrimination Officer.
Worked 17-years at Cal State San Bernardino in several capacities, including adjunct faculty, instructional support technology, and as the first University Ombudsman.
Chani’s professional experience has allowed her to address critical issues as a policy expert, investigator, mediator, and problem solver. Her greatest contribution to the educational environment was her ability to frame issues from diverse viewpoints and to understand the interests of those involved while searching for practical solutions.

Transparency in District Decision Making
Our school district must be accountable to the families it serves, and this accountability starts with transparency. Whether we agree with a District decision or action, the basis must be understandable. I commit to fostering community trust and credibility through open, transparent communication and decision-making processes.
Fiscal Stewardship
Our school board has a fundamental obligation to assure the District budget is administered ethically, intentionally, and objectively. Fiscal decisions must be grounded in what is best for our children’s education and guided by established District priorities. I pledge to uphold these values and to be a responsible steward of your taxpayer dollars.
Parental Engagement
Education thrives when parents are involved in their children’s education. I commit to encouraging parental engagement by assuring effective open lines of communication to support every child’s education.
Equity
Fairness matters. Every student in our district deserves to be treated fairly and to have access to educational opportunities that meet their needs. Our District must maintain a culture where equity is considered foundational to student success. I pledge to uplift fairness and equity for all our students and assure that every child is treated with dignity and respect.
